DSSSB Recruitment 2026: Selection Process

DSSSB Junior Engineer & ASO Syllabus 2026
Tier-I (Common for All Posts)
The Tier-I exam is divided into five sections, each carrying 40 marks (total 200 marks):
- General Awareness: History, Polity, Geography, Economics, and a significant focus on Current Affairs.
- General Intelligence & Reasoning: Both verbal and non-verbal reasoning.
- Arithmetical & Numerical Ability: Data Interpretation (DI), Profit & Loss, Average, Percentage, and Mensuration.
- Test of Hindi Language & Comprehension: Grammar, Vocabulary, and Sentence Structure.
- Test of English Language & Comprehension: Synonyms, Antonyms, and Reading Comprehension.
Tier-II (For ASO & Legal Assistant)
For these posts, Tier-II is the merit-deciding stage:
- Part I (Objective): Advanced General Awareness, Reasoning, and specialized topics related to the post (e.g., Law for Legal Assistant).
- Part-II (Descriptive): This includes Essay Writing (30 marks) and Letter Writing/Expansion of Ideas (20 marks). You can choose to write in either English or Hindi.
- Computer Knowledge: Basic operations, MS Office, and Internet usage are specifically tested in Tier-II for ASO.
Technical Section (For JE/ AE)
- For engineering posts, Section B of the One-Tier exam focuses entirely on your specific discipline (Civil/ Electrical/ Mechanical Engineering) at the Degree or Diploma level.
