Educational Qualification
West Bengal Teacher Eligibility Test the required Educational Qualification.
Level-1 Primary Teacher (Class I-V):
- Class 12th (10+2/ Intermediate/ Senior Secondary) or its equivalent with minimum 50% marks and 2 years Diploma in Elementary Education (D.EL.Ed/ BTC)
OR
- Class 12th (10+2/ Intermediate/ Senior Secondary) or it’s equivalent with minimum 45% marks and 2 years Diploma in Elementary Education (D.EL.Ed/ BTC) with the NCTE (Recognition Norms and Procedure) as per the Regulations 2002.
OR
- Class 12th (10+2/ Intermediate/ Senior Secondary) or it’s equivalent with the minimum 50% marks and 4-year preliminary Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.EI.ED)
OR
- Class 12th (10+2/ Intermediate/ Senior Secondary) or it’s equivalent with minimum 50% marks and 2 years Diploma in Education (Special Education)
OR
- Bachelor’s Degree (or its equivalent) and 2 years Diploma in Elementary Education (D.EI.Ed)/ BTC).
OR
- Bachelor’s Degree with minimum 50% marks and Bachelor’s in Education (B.Ed.)
OR
- Siksha Mitra Passed 2 years Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed.) from IGNOU.
Level-2 TGT (Class VI-VIII):
- Bachelor’s Degree (or its equivalent) and 2 years Diploma in Elementary Education (B.T.C/ D.EL.Ed).
OR
- Bachelor Degree (or it’s equivalent) with minimum 50% marks and 1 year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed/L.T./Shiksha Shastri).
OR
- Bachelor Degree (or it’s equivalent) with minimum 45% marks and passed or appearing in 1 year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed/L.T./Shiksha Shastri), in accordance with the NCTE (Recognition Norms and Procedure) Regulations issued from time to time in this regard.
OR
- Class 12th (10+2/ Intermediate/ Senior Secondary) with minimum 50% marks and 4 years Bachelor in Elementary Education (B.EL.ED).
OR
- Class 12th (10+2/ Intermediate/ Senior Secondary) or its equivalent with minimum 50% marks and 4 years BB.A/B.Sc.Ed or B.A.Ed/B.Sc.Ed.
OR
- Bachelor’s Degree with minimum 50% marks and B.Ed. (Special Education).
OR
- Graduation or Post-Graduation with minimum 50% marks and passed Bachelor in Education (B.Ed). Provided that minimum Percentage of marks in Graduation shall not be applicable to those incumbents who had already taken admission to the Bachelor of Education or Bachelor of Elementary Education or an equivalent course prior to the 29th July 2011
Level-3 PGT-Lecturer:
- Post Graduate Degree in the concerned subject with 50% marks and B.Ed.
- Matric with Hindi/Sanskrit or Class 12th (Senior Secondary)/Graduation/ Post Graduation with Hindi as one of the subjects.
